Partnerships for Children works with a number of other non-profit organizations and community groups to provide CPS kids with resources that help provide a sense of normalcy to their lives. The following are supplemental programs that work toward the goal of helping these children to feel just like any other child.
Visitation rooms are used for family visits between children who are in CPS custody and their parents and other family members. Most children are able to visit their parents for one hour, twice monthly; Partnerships for Children would like this time to be as meaningful as possible. We are partnering with the community to provide brand new furniture and toys, along with regular upkeep for these rooms.
Back to school
In partnership with Operation School Bell and the National Charity League, Partnerships for Children helps foster kids prepare for the upcoming school year. Caseworkers sign their kids up and we supply them with backpacks and the necessary school supplies.
In partnership with the National Charity League, Partnerships for Children collects and distributes Easter baskets to families every year. The baskets can be picked up by caseworkers and distributed to families. These are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Partnerships for Children partners with Austin Apartment Association to collect and distribute boxes of food that not only provide “all the fixin’s” for a Thanksgiving meal for four, but also provides enough food for that family to eat for a week. Caseworkers distribute the meals to the families in their caseloads.
